The grant may only be used for the purpose for which the application was made as approved by the Trustees. It is not transferable to any other body or for any other purpose without the express permission in writing from the Secretary. In the happy event of your application being over-subscribed please let us know. If for whatever reason the project changes you should contact the Trust as soon as possible.
While we do not wish to receive a formal report on the outcome of the project - unless you are preparing one as a matter of course - we do like to receive any details or photographs you may have.
The Trusts objectives are wide ranging and include :
In general terms the Trustees have powers to make grants to any organisation which is charitable but they prefer to support charities, voluntary groups and educational establishments in the North Tyneside and East Newcastle areas.
Grants made have varied between regular annual donations, small one-off donations and grants for capital projects. The Trust has made grants of between £100 and £10,000 but the average size of grant awarded is £1000.
Most of the beneficiaries in recent years have been youth groups (both uniformed and non-uniformed), children , people with disabilities, older people, schools, colleges, councils for voluntary service and other advice agencies. The Trustees are unable to make grants to individuals.
